Washington and Rock Island, Wisconsin

A wonderful birthday camping trip to Washington Island in Door County, Wisconsin!

We stayed at a private campground, Washington Island Campground. Their mini farm (with horses and chickens) and playground was a hit to our little toddler!

There are many activities that are well-suited for the whole family — like biking, hiking, and lots of swimming areas on Lake Michigan.

School House Beach is one of the five places in the world where you can experience swimming in crystal clear water with natural limestones!

If you have a full day to allocate to relax on the beach, we highly recommend island hopping to the Rock Island State Park! It is more secluded and the beach has more fine sand and some limestones! It also has a nice museum to learn more about the history of the islands and beyond …

Overall, it was a lovely and yet another successful adventure trip with our little family!
